Keomany Mary

Mary Woodbury

September 23, 2014

kemonyMy name is Keomony Mary, and I was born in 1995. I grew up as the youngest daughter among my other two sisters. I was born and raised in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.

Talking about writing, I do really love to write. I’d like to write fantasy, those with vampires, werewolves, warlocks, etc. involved. It is really fun to create the utopia world of our own, the place where only readers and writers will acknowledge. Moreover, it will be a place to escape from our stressful and busy world while we get lost in books. Even though I love to write fantasy, I do not mind writing family drama either. It is hard to avoid facing problems in our everyday life, and each of those problems will be able to compile into stories. Millions of them.

As for reading, I really enjoy reading fantasy, romantic suspense, thriller and sci-fi. My favorite books of all time are The Harry Potter Series, The Mortal Instruments Series, The Infernal Devices Series, The Divergent Series, The Millennium Trilogy, The Twilight Saga, The Da Vinci Code Series, and the Selection Series. I take J.K Rowling as my iconic idol.

Since I am just nineteen years old, my career is a university student – a senior. I am doing double degrees in English Literature and Foundation in Accountancy.

The story “Raindrop” is actually the debut short story that is given to the public through competition; therefore, I do not have any previous publication. But I also had a few short stories display at my own blog. Speaking of the short story, I actually planned to write “Raindrop” as a novel, which may lead to 100 pages or so. However, my friend recommended me this Eco-fiction website, which held short story contest so I decided to give it a try. Thus, I had to shorten my plot and changed some of the scenes in order to make it fit the less-than-five-thousand-words rule.
