I founded and edited a magazine called ShowBoats International, which for 20 years was the “bible” of the superyacht world. The Admiral is an adventure story set in mid-Atlantic on a community of aging yachts gathered to ride out the collapse of civilization in the wake of sea level rise and climate change. I spent two years researching the science I depict in the book, and had it vetted by several leading scientists. The novel has great early reviews by Jean-Michel Cousteau, Dr. Sylvia Earle, and some prominent environmental writers and novelists.

Her vindication ultimately comes, not from her extraordinary victory, but from the revelations of the sloop’s rescued crew about new perils from ongoing climate change. And she learns The Admiral had long ago foreseen the role she would play in his vision to rebuild a saner, wiser civilization atop the ruins of the old world.
